ANEVRA - Where it began

Where it began... a famous lyric from a brilliant Neil Diamond song, Sweet Caroline... but also a question that became a conversation, a conversation that became a philosophy, and a philosophy that became a book. ANEVRA - A Different Kind of Mentoring. Intrigued? Think injury, pain, psychotropic drugs, and a very long chat with a deity?

After waiting thirty-one years to marry the woman he loved, Arven Anevski was injured shortly after their wedding and found himself living with severe physical pain. Then, for five consecutive nights, under the influence of pain and medication, he returned to the same extraordinary dream. He was above the sea at sunset. Whales and dolphins broke the surface below him. Birds dived into the water around him to fish. And there, in a place that seemed to exist outside ordinary time, he found himself in conversation with a deity. They talked about ordinary life. About humanity. About why people who long for peace can become so accomplished at creating the conditions for conflict. About grief, anger, fear and belonging. About repair. About the circles we draw around ourselves. About the living world. And about an empty chair. Anevski makes no claim about what happened. Medication, pain, the subconscious, something else. He doesn’t know.

But the conversations stayed with him and his questions followed him home after every walk. ANEVRA is what happened when he decided to explore them.

Beginning with the intimate realities of everyday life, our losses, arguments, fears, relationships and differences, the journey gradually widens. From the individual to families and communities; from organisations and technology to power and the decisions we make; from those present in the room to those affected but absent; from ourselves to future generations and, ultimately, the living world.

At its heart is a deceptively simple question:
Who is affected, but absent?

And perhaps an even simpler invitation:
Leave room…

ANEVRA offers no perfect society and asks for no belief. It is not a religion, political programme or instruction manual for living. It is what emerged from one person exploring a series of questions, and an invitation to see where they might lead you.
Come and look. The circle is open...

The book is currently somewhere inside Amazon, being reviewed. So it isn't quite time to invite you... but soon.
Leave Room...
